I appreciated this book and it made me think. (What more could you want?) The first half tells the story of Patagonia; I appreciated the fast narrative. The second half describes the philosophies that govern Patagonia today; this part made me think. Throughout, Chouinard's voice is clear and simple, thus effective at saying precisely what he wants. Its conversational, but that's what you'd want from a seasoned man with a story to tell.
Forgive me if this blog has become a book journal. Lately, I've done almost nothing interesting but read. My thoughts, the things I chronicle, are a monologue running against the authors with whom I spend ever-longer evenings.
Would I rather pursue creating my own job or finding a job from someone else?

Can someone write a program that integrates my gtalk status, facebook status, and twitter simultaneously?
Today in class I struggled with a pretty important question. The protagonist in our case was a creative technologist--she thought up and developed products. The case was about how she should turn a product into a business. I argued that she shouldn't. Instead of getting involved in production and sales deals, she should sell her idea and go back to what she loved doing. If her purpose wasn't in business, why bother starting one?
