The Sea Is My Brother

The Sea is My BrotherThe Sea is My Brother by Jack Kerouac
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Reading the first 200 pages, which is the newly published novel and other short stories by Kerouac, is a delight. You can see what's coming in his epic career. The characters and plot of the early bits of Sea are wildly memorable for this New England native.

I read a version that had another 300 pages of "critical essays." They weren't worth the time.

(This part of my goal to read and review fifty books in 2014.)
