Jim Messina sent this to me:

[![Great email from Jim Messina and the 2012 Obama campaign](https://www.yell.is/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/7f8cd-ofaemail.png?width=640&height=609&name=7f8cd-ofaemail.png)](https://www.yell.is/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/7f8cd-ofaemail-1.png)

It's a great email. Here's why:

- Images aren't essential to the layout or message. Even without images loaded, it looks very nice.
- It looks and reads like an email from "Messina."
- The link all spelled out shows me what kind of page I'm heading to when I click on it. No bait-and-switch to a donate page.
- The PS line is a soft yet clear donation plea. It's honest and strikes a good tone.
